Local businesses are opening thanks to our county’s success in flattening the curve of the coronavirus infection and compliance with the Governor’s State Resilience Roadmap. By implementing safety protocols, many of our businesses can resume operations. These businesses must self-certify that they are following these protocols. When they do, they can post signage notifying customers they are “Open and Safe.” If you are a Paso Robles business owner you should visit ReadySLO.org for your self-certification process, then check in at pasostrong.org to list your business locally. Potential customers will be checking pasostrong.org to see the growing list of local businesses that are “Open and Safe” to visit. We welcome our business community back as they re-open and remind everyone to continue being careful so we keep the infection curve flat. If COVID-19 is down, we’re open for business, and that’s good news for everyone.

Speaking of which, Paso Robles and residents of the 93446 Zip Code area continue to be the “high point” for detected infection in our county. Many have asked why. According to the county’s public health official, Dr. Penny Borenstein, infections in large, extended families and community living situations are the main causes. You can see the comparative levels of infection in our county by clicking here.

Until next we blog, this is Paso Robles Mayor Steve Martin reminding you to stay informed, stay involved and stay strong Paso Robles.
